It is with a sad and troubled heart that we share with you the passing of our friend and fellow Building Official Jack Williams on April 27, 2020.

Jack has been in a battle with cancer for a number of years and the Lord decided it was time to bring  him home on April 27th. Jack was the Building Official for Madison Heights for many years. After he retired from Madison heights, he decided he had a little more gas in the tank and went to work for Safe Built for a number of years. Jack is a past president of OCBOA and SEMBOIA. He was the architect of the original SEMBOIA barcode scanning system used by the board to expedite the sign-in. He was also the person that pushed SEMBOIA to develop a website and was the webmaster for many years. We salute him for his many years of dedicated service to the SEMBOIA membership. Those who knew Jack felt his strong personality, experienced his leadership, and also heard his strong opinion on things that mattered to him. He was not afraid to speak up when it needed to be said, even if it may not have been the popular thing to do. Jack had a way of making his unique mark on whatever he touched. We are all a little better from what he has done for us and our industry.
